1st day in Italy: Rome

2nd day in Italy: Vatican City
On your second day in Italy, head to the Vatican. This city-state is the seat of the Roman Catholic Church, where you’ll find many architectural and artistic treasures. One of them is the Sistine Chapel, the Pope’s official residence, located in the Apostolic Palace. You can also visit the Vatican Museums, a complex of small but very interesting museums.
Another option is to visit the famous St. Peter’s Basilica, located in the square of the same name. Admission is free, but you should pay attention to the dress code, as you are not allowed to enter the church in short clothes or with your shoulders showing. In the evening, return to enjoy more of Rome’s nightlife. You can dine in one of its fine restaurants, dance in a club or take a night tour. A tour of the Colosseum is available at night and offers a totally unique view of the place.
