Want to travel but don’t know where to stay in Florence? Then check out this article, as we’ve given you all the tips on the best areas in the city.
Where is the best place to stay in Florence?
The best part of the city to stay in is the center of Florence. After all, that’s where the main tourist attractions are, which helps you save a lot on transportation. Some of the places you’ll find there are Florence Cathedral, Piazza Duomo and Ponte Vecchio.
On the map below, we show you the central area, which is inside the blue circle. Hotels in this part of Florence tend to be more expensive, but it’s worth evaluating the possibility because it’s so easy.
If you want to find out more about the area and which hotels are in it, just click here and a map will open showing all the hotels in the center of Florence. We’ve gone ahead and added a filter that will only show hotels with a rating of 8 or above, which will guarantee you a great stay.
Once you’ve done that, just fill in the fields with the date of your trip and see the prices to choose an option. If you stay within the orange line on the map below, you can’t go wrong.
1. Oltrarno district: this typical Florentine district is located very close to the River Arno and Palazzo Pitti, just 10 minutes from the historic center. As it’s a residential area, you’ll find a variety of accommodation options, including hostels and hotels.
2. Porta Al Prato neighborhood: this option is also close to the center, about 15 minutes away. As it is another residential neighborhood, with few tourist attractions, it doesn’t have as many hotels as others. On the other hand, Porta Al Prato is perfect for tourists who want to rent apartments during their stay.
3. Piazzale Michelangelo neighborhood: this is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the city, but it is also very beautiful, as it is located high above the city, which is why it is named after the famous Piazzale Michelangelo viewpoint. The views from this spot are beautiful and it is also close to a number of tourist attractions, such as the Ponte Vecchio and the Pitti Palace.
4. Campo di Marte district: this last option is further away from the historic center of Florence: approximately 2 kilometers. On the other hand, the rates at hotels in this area are much cheaper, and the area has a train station which is directly connected to the center with a 5-minute ride from Santa Maria Novella Central Station.
Top tip for finding good hotels at incredible prices in Florence
To find the best hotels in the best areas of the city, our tip is to use this Florence Hotel Finder. We always use it because it’s the largest hotel booking site in the world, super reliable and safe. What’s more, it has the opinions of tourists who have already stayed in the hotels, which helps a lot when evaluating each one.
When making your purchase, after a search, the tip is to filter by “Neighborhood” (to select the regions you are looking for), and by “Guest reviews”, putting “Very good upwards”. In addition, this search engine offers free cancellation for most hotels.
The tip is to check, in the search, the hotels that have “Free cancellation” written on them. That way, you can book your hotel on the spot to guarantee the price (since they change from one day to the next, and the best hotels sell out quickly), and if you later find a better one, or don’t want to stay there, just cancel.
