What the winter weather is like in Cancun?
Cancun has a predominantly tropical climate, but during the winter, which runs from December to February, temperatures can change a little. Daily averages range between 20°C and 28°C, providing a milder climate compared to the warmer months – but it’s still a GREAT climate to enjoy the destination.
Nights can get a little cooler in winter, reaching around 15°C, so be prepared for temperature variations. But know that it’s nothing that will hinder your trip. What’s more, the season has very little rainfall – which is why it’s so popular with tourists.
What to pack? Light, casual clothes for the day (opt for light clothing such as shorts, t-shirts and dresses) and more closed clothing for the evening (such as a sweater or light jacket). Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, swimwear and comfortable shoes. Remember that even in winter, the sun in Cancun can be strong.

Snorkeling and diving on the beaches: Cancun’s crystal-clear waters remain inviting even in winter. Take the opportunity to go snorkeling or diving and discover the region’s unique marine life. Yes, you can enjoy the beaches even in winter.
