Learn about the different seasons in London
The best months to visit the city will depend on the weather. But, in general, we can say that tourists love going to London in the months of May, June, July, August and September, which comprise spring and summer.
This is a great time to travel there, as the temperatures are very pleasant, the days are longer and more inviting for a good walk in the fresh air. Just to give you an idea, between June and August, sunrise in London is at 4 am and sunset at 9 pm.
In the fall, which runs from September to December, the city has high rainfall rates, raining for several days in a row. But it’s nothing that will hinder your trip. In fact, a good tip for enjoying rainy days is to visit London’s museums, such as the British Museum, the Natural History Museum and the National Gallery.
On the other hand, if you’re planning your trip for the winter, between December and March, be prepared for the intense cold of the season, with temperatures hovering between -7ºC and 8ºC. And if you’re a cold person, we recommend that you avoid visiting the city in December and January, because that’s when the cold gets stronger and it gets dark very early, around 4:30 pm.
Now, if you want to save money on your trip to London, our tip is that you avoid going to the city in August, because it’s the hottest period and it’s vacation time in the Northern Hemisphere. As a result, due to the large influx of tourists from all over the world, prices rise considerably and the queues for tourist attractions become enormous. In other words, our tip is to travel in the low season, during the months of February, March, April, October or November.
